The Wentworth PTA met on September 17th at 7:00.
 
 
There were two speakers that opened the meeting. Rick Soules from the School Bus Transportation and Anne Mayre Dexter, the Principal of Wentworth. Both individuals gave an update of activities at school and bussing for this upcoming year.
 
At the conclusion of these presentations the business meeting was held.
 
The Secretary's minutes were read and accepted. Copies of future minutes will be available at next session.
 
The Treasurer's report was accepted. A budget for 2003 -2004 was presented by the Treasurer. We ended the school year in 2003 with $3481. It is projected that there will be an ending  balance of $5475 in 2004. The Wentworth PTA has assets of $13,951 in checking and CD accounts.
 
ENRICHMENT
Lucia Jones presented ideas on what the Enrichment Committee may be involved in this year. She will be working with the school administration to roll out the curriculum utilizing the Museum of Art books. Lucia requested that PTA members give her their ideas on this year's programs. She plans to meet with the teachers also. She will update the PTA at the next meeting.
 
MEMBERSHIP
No updates at this meeting.
 
GIFTWRAP
The sales started on September 10th and will end on September 26th. The delivery date is scheduled for October 29th. Currently they have had 26 orders submitted, worth $1300.00. The children will receive gift certificates from Big 20 Bowling this year. The committee will need volunteers on the delivery date.
 
THURSDAY FOLDERS
Karen Synder will be taking care of Thursday Folders. Make sure you have the information for Thursday Folders in the PTA box in the office by 10:00 Wednesday morning.
 
BOXTOPS
The Wentworth PTA will be collecting boxtops again this year. We have also signed up for the Hannaford coupons. A request was made to see if there was anything that a parent could do to help with collecting the box tops (counting them ahead of time,cutting, etc). Linda will follow up to see if there were any suggestions for the PTA members.
 
FAMILY FUN NIGHT
A date has not been confirmed yet. Lorraine Talbot and Veronica Chamberlain will coordinate the Dance and Family Fun night schedule. They will update the committee at the next meeting.
 
PROGRAMS
Cathy Bennett updated the members about future speakers. Cathy has scheduled Deb Dumas to speak on Homework again this year. This will be on October 20th from 7:00 to 8:00. She is planning to have a speaker on English as a Second Language at the next PTA meeting.
 
WEBSITE
Dana Bennett will help to update the website this year. Please forward information to Cathy Bennett or Dana for information in this area.
 
PUBLIC RELATIONS
Jennifer Jortberg reminded the members to provide her with any notices that we wanted to get out to the public. She will help get this information out to the local papers.
 
NEW BUSINESS
The PTA Committee voted to donate $1000.00 towards the Gym Dandies trip to Washington.
 
 
The next meeting will be November 15th at 7:00 at in the Wentworth Band Room.
