The Wentworth PTA met on May 7th, 2003. 
 
The Treasurer's report was accepted. A balance of $13,662.15 is currently in the PTA account. There will be a few more expenses from the Wentworth Reception paid for by the end of the year out of this account. The balance should still end up around $12,000.
 
The Spring Dance attendance still appeared low compared to previous years. The PTA will review this next year and determine if it should still be continued. 
 
The newsletter has been great and well received by the school and community. It was recommended that it may need it's own committee next year. 
 
The Story Telling Festival went very well this year. It was recommended that it may need to incorporated at the Art Show next year. It was also recommended that the committee put a notice on the Thursday folders at the Elementary Schools.
 
The Enrichment Committee also has purchased 8 learning books from the Museum of Art for the teachers next year. The Museum will offer curriculum training next year on how to apply these materials. 
 
The PTA has received $500.00 from the Box Tops and $700.00 from Hannaford coupons. 
 
The upcoming Teacher Appreciation week had a great list of activities for the teachers including dessert treats and massages. 
 
The Third Grade Wentworth reception is scheduled from 5-6:30 on the last day of school. The budget for this event is around $1000.00. 
 
It was noted that the PTA should follow up on making sure the trash cans get installed on the playground by next fall. 
 
Speaker suggestions for next year were requested. The presentations on Homework and Bussing were very good and hoped to be scheduled next year.
 
The Website is almost ready to go and will be linked to the scarboroughmaine.com site. Thank you to Dana Bennett for doing this.
