Girls Farm League Softball

Scarborough Little League Home

Scarborough Little League offers a full range of instructional and competitive softball for girls age 8-16 years old (as of July 31st). Girls Softball is divided into 4 leagues: Farm League (ages 8-12), Little League (ages 9-12), Junior League (ages 13-14), and Senior League (ages 14-16). Play begins in April and ends in mid-June. Post season tournaments are held for all-stars in all leagues except the Farm League.

Scarborough Little League Softball is designed and managed to allow all young women the opportunity to learn, play, and enjoy the exciting sport of softball in a supportive and challenging environment.

We are always looking for new coaches, especially females, and would enjoy discussing the program with any interested parents. We offer coaching clinics and attempt to develop coaches over a period of years as their daughters' progress through the Leagues.

Girls’ Farm League Softball

This is the entry level league and the instructional league for girls’ who will be 8-12 years old on July 31st. Practices begin in mid-April, play begins at the end of April and ends in mid-June.

Farm League Softball is played on a regulation softball field: 60 ft. base paths and 40 ft. pitching rubber. We use fields at the High School, the Middle School, Peterson, and Springbrook.

For much of the season, the coaches pitch to their own teams during the 6 inning games. Other than pitching, we play regulation softball, use 3-4 outfielders, and have all players in the batting order to allow each girl to get maximum playing time with as many at-bats and touches of the ball as possible.

There are no tryouts for this league. Girls who do not make a Little League Softball team during tryouts are automatically placed on a Farm League team. (The same team as the prior year if they played Farm League the prior year.) Players can request (at registration and without guarantees) to be placed on a team with specific friends.

Uniforms for this league are a T-shirt and cap.
