About Us
The Friends of Scarborough Marsh is a coalition of of concerned
citizens, landowners, businesses, state and federal agencies,
environmental organizations, and others. We have in common
our love for the Scarborough Marsh and our commitment to safeguard
it for generations to come.
Established in 2000, we are an all-volunteer group dedicated
to the conservation, protection, restoration, and enhancement
of the Scarborough Marsh watershed.
Our efforts include:
• Studies to understand
challenges and potential for restoration
• Saltmarsh restoration projects
• Land conservation initiatives
• Education and public outreach
• Special events including
clean-ups, educational programs, and fundraisers to support
our efforts

We hope you will share in the positive excitement many of

people on behalf of
Scarborough Marsh.
Your involvement can be as simple as carefully planning how
you manage your lawn to as dedicated as helping conserve more
open space in the marsh watershed. Both of these activities,
and many levels of dedication in between have significant

Do you want your grand children to
be able to enjoy Scarborough Marsh as we do today? Whether
you have a little or a lot of time, if you want to have a
positive effect on Scarborough Marsh, decide what you think
fits your interest and get involved. Your grandchildren, and
everyone else's will be glad you did. Every little bit helps
- join us in making sure the fragile and nationally significant
Scarborough Marsh is to remain healthy and an oasis of refreshing
open space and specatular wildlife habitat.
